There really was no other plan but to finish it. ACCORD, in partnership with CARE and supported by the European Commission's Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection department (ECHO), has recently turned over rehabilitated schools to their communities.
Damaged during Haiyan, facilities like these schools provide vital services to far-flung communities. In addition to the usual repairs (doors, windows, roofing, water and sanitation facilities), there were also trainings on hygiene and psychosocial first aid for community members. In supporting such a comprehensive rehabilitation, ACCORD hopes to contribute towards a supportive and protective environment for children and their families.
