Last March 24 to 25, the Partners for Resilience conducted the Skill and capacity building workshop on Games for Climate Change. Staff from partner organizations in Indonesia and the Philippines were trained on how to effectively conduct games at the community level. Games are an effective way of explaining and discussing complex ideas and topics, as it banks on community members actively participating and having fun.

Participants were introduced to both short and long games as well as provided with additional tips to improve their facilitation skills. On the second day, they were asked to conduct games in an actual community setting. Shown in these photos is the one done at Barangay Potrero, Malabon City. True to community members’ expectations, they not only had fun but a chance to appreciate further issues in disaster risk reduction and climate change through the Ready! game. They also warmly welcomed our Indonesian friends, who had a chance to understand the differences and similarities of the Philippine context.
